Scholarship Opportunities
Fifth Year Scholarships for Degree Completion
The RMAC Degree Completion Award is available to student athletes who
will have completed their eligibility during the 2007-08 academic year
and desire to complete their degree during the 2008-09 academic year.
Student Athletes must have completed their eligibility and
must be able to meet the graduation requirements of
their institution in the year of the award. The year of the award is
from August to August.
Awards of up to $2,000 per semester will be available to selected
applicants, with a maximum of two awards per applicant. Terms may
include fall, spring, and/or summer. The amount of the award will be
determined by the committee.
Applications are due at the RMAC by April 11, 2008. The FAR deadline is
April 4, 2008. Kindly notify the FAR by mid March if you are planning
to submit an application.
The purpose of the Division II Degree-Completion Award program is to
provide financial assistance to deserving student-athletes with
completion of a first baccalaureate degree. Candidates will be
students who have exhausted their athletics eligibility and have
received athletics financial aid.
Applications for 2008-2009 must be postmarked not later than April 8,
2008.
The NCAA awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87
for men and 87 for women. The scholarships are awarded to
student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are
in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.
The one-time grants of $7,500 each are awarded for fall sports, winter
sports and spring sports. Each sports season (fall, winter and
spring), there are 29 scholarships available for men and 29
scholarships available for women. The scholarships are one-time,
non-renewable grants.
The NCAA administers a variety of internship, scholarship and
leadership-development programs to enhance the educational
opportunities that student-athletes receive on campus. In addition,
the NCAA conducts research into the academic preparation and
performance of student-athletes, among many other topics. This page
