Welcome to the Comp Sci Online web page!
We started our Comp Sci Online program in the Spring 2005 semester, and we've been offering all the required courses for the Master's of Engineering in Software Engineering (MESE) degree through Comp Sci Online. The College of Engineering and Applied Science is now moving toward more distance learning opportunities for the students in the college, so the Comp Sci Online program will officially end as a separate program following the Spring 2008 semester.
Because of these changes, we are no longer guaranteeing that all the required courses for the Master's of Engineering in Software Engineering (MESE) degree will be offered on line. The choice of whether or not a particular course is offered on line will be up to the instructor for that course.

Course Materials Access
All the courses taught through Comp Sci Online will be using eCompanion, a tool that supports distance learning activities. eCompanion provides lots of great features, including dropboxes for graded work submission and grading, an online gradebook for current student grade information, announcements, email lists, and so on.
One of the main benefits of Comp Sci Online access to a course is access to recorded classroom lectures. We record those lectures using LearnLinc, and students can then download and view those lectures at their convenience. Each recorded lecture is about 4 MB, so for students with slow connectivity the downloads take a while. Our students can easily work around this problem by accessing the lectures where a high-speed connection is available (work, local library, etc.) and saving it to USB memory for transfer to their PC.
